The shoemaker’s kids have been barefoot for too long! What I mean to say is my own landscaping has been neglected for much longer than it ever should have. While I gather inspiration for my own gardens, here are some pictures of a landscape that I designed in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. It is a beautiful, unique custom home located right on the water. The owners were a pleasure to work with and I had a lot of fun with while developing this site. While my property is very, very different from this one, there are certain design elements that I loved here and hope to translate them to my own landscape.

Techo-Bloc paver driveway- Love the color. Sky Pencil Japanese Holly by the front steps are so neat. |

The trellis with an espalier apple tree dresses up this garage even more. |

A breath taking view becomes focused with an arbor. |

This retaining wall creates lines that define space but is also utilitarian. |

These swans were an unexpected design element that volunteered for the photo shoot. |

The view from the patio. |
The front of the house was built with a little nook that offered its self for a little zen garden right below the kitchen.
I would never mind doing dishes listening to this.
