A Fabulous Landscape

The shoemaker’s kids have been barefoot for too long!  What I mean to say is my own landscaping has been neglected for much longer than it ever should have.  While I gather inspiration for my own gardens, here are some pictures of a landscape that I designed in Old Saybrook, Connecticut.  It is a beautiful, unique custom home located right on the water. The owners were a pleasure to work with and I had a lot of fun with while developing this site.  While my property is very, very different from this one, there are certain design elements that I loved here and hope to translate them to my own landscape.
Techo-Bloc paver driveway- Love the color. Sky Pencil Japanese Holly by the front steps are so neat.

The trellis with an espalier apple tree dresses up this garage even more.

A breath taking view becomes focused with an arbor.

This retaining wall creates lines that define space but is also utilitarian.

These swans were an unexpected design element that volunteered for the photo shoot.

The view from the patio.

The front of the house was built with a little nook that offered its self for a little zen garden right below the kitchen.
I would never mind doing dishes listening to this.
